Founded in 2007 by Mario Cangini and Nicola Silvagni, Department 5 grew from a creative journey that began on the Romagna Riviera in the late 1970s, where the two developed a shared passion for fashion, research and contemporary culture. Initially conceived as an experimental workshop focused on a small number of pieces, the project became a structured collection in 2013. Military influences, workwear and references to subcultures meet premium fabrics, tailoring techniques and advanced dyeing and finishing processes. Production in the Marche region enhances Italian craftsmanship and technological innovation. Music also plays an important role in the brand’s creative imagery, feeding into a functional, timeless wardrobe. Department 5 offers an authentic contemporary aesthetic built on quality, practicality and product culture.
