Bode

Founded in New York in 2016 by Emily Adams Bode Aujla, BODE builds each collection around memory, craftsmanship and American culture. The designer draws on personal stories, photographs, antique textiles and traditional techniques, reinterpreting them through embroidery, appliqué, patchwork and intricate handwork. Vintage fabrics and reproductions inspired by historical textiles and garments become the starting point for contemporary pieces with a strong sense of storytelling. Shirts, jackets, knitwear and tailoring often preserve details that evoke lived-in objects, domestic traditions and family memories. Rather than simply looking to the past, BODE brings techniques, surfaces and stories into the present through new forms and functions. The result is an intimate and recognisable aesthetic in which craftsmanship, history and individuality give each piece a distinctive character designed to endure over time.
