Jean Paul Gaultier
Founded in Paris in 1976 by Jean Paul Gaultier, the eponymous Maison established its identity through creative freedom, provocation and a fearless reinterpretation of traditional dress codes. Corsetry, nautical stripes, denim, trompe-l’œil prints and constructions that challenge the relationship between garment and body form a recognisable archive that is continually reimagined. Following the founder’s retirement from the runway in 2020, the Maison entered a new creative chapter. In 2025, Duran Lantink was appointed permanent Creative Director, overseeing both ready-to-wear and haute couture. His direction carries the brand’s experimental spirit forward through a contemporary perspective rooted in savoir-faire and freedom of expression. Jean Paul Gaultier remains a space where craftsmanship, irony and transformation converge, preserving the radical and immediately identifiable character of its creative heritage.
