Christian Louboutin
Founded in Paris in 1991 by Christian Louboutin, the eponymous Maison grew from the designer’s passion for footwear, drawing and the world of theatre. In 1992, a stroke of red nail polish applied to the sole of a shoe created what would become the brand’s most recognisable signature. Pumps, sandals, sneakers and formal shoes combine precise proportions, refined craftsmanship and often bold detailing, while the collection expanded into leather goods in 2003. Louboutin’s creativity draws inspiration from art, travel, architecture and performance, translating these influences into distinctive creations with a strong sense of character. The Maison continues to evolve through savoir-faire, imagination and freedom of expression, with the celebrated red sole remaining the unmistakable signature of its constantly evolving creative language.
