Comme des Garçons Shirt

Created in the late 1980s under the creative direction of Rei Kawakubo, Comme des Garçons SHIRT takes one of the wardrobe’s most fundamental pieces—the shirt—and turns it into a field for experimentation. Poplin, stripes, tartan and classic fabrics are reinterpreted through patchwork, layering, prints, inserts and unexpected constructions. Over time, the collection has expanded to include jackets, trousers, T-shirts and knitwear while preserving the same design principle: starting from familiar archetypes and altering their proportions, surfaces and details. Production retains a strong focus on fabric quality and construction, often carried out in France. Comme des Garçons SHIRT offers a creative yet immediate wardrobe where simplicity and experimentation coexist in pieces that are recognizable but never predictable.
