VEJA was founded in France in 2004 by Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion with the aim of rethinking the sneaker from the perspective of its entire supply chain. From the outset, the project established direct relationships with producers in Brazil, using materials such as organic cotton and natural rubber from the Amazon while prioritising transparency and social responsibility. The distinctive side “V” became the visual signature of an intentionally understated design that gives prominence to material quality and production processes. VEJA also chose to build its model without relying on traditional advertising, directing greater resources towards production. The result is a contemporary sneaker in which aesthetics, function and environmental impact are considered integral parts of the same project.
