Second/Layer

Founded in Venice Beach, California, in 2012 by Joshua Willis, Jacob Willis and Ant De Padovane, SECOND/LAYER grew from the surf, skate and street cultures of Southern California. The founders describe their approach as “Tailor Made Daily Wear,” bringing together relaxed sportswear, precise tailoring and an effortless everyday attitude. Jackets, trousers, shirts, knitwear and denim explore carefully considered proportions, refined fabrics and understated palettes, with particular attention to construction and movement. Mexican-American culture, music and the laid-back character of Los Angeles remain important references, translated into a clean and distinctive visual language. Designed in Los Angeles and largely made in Italy, SECOND/LAYER combines craftsmanship, functionality and cultural authenticity in pieces conceived to move naturally between casual and more refined settings.
