Launched in 2005 by Rick Owens, DRKSHDW began as a line dedicated to denim, jersey and everyday pieces, translating the designer’s radical aesthetic into a more direct, urban language. Owens’ research remains recognizable in elongated proportions, bold volumes, worn finishes and the recurring use of black, grey and dusty tones. Sweatshirts, cargo trousers, T-shirts and sneakers become essential elements of a wardrobe built between grunge, functionality and experimentation. Materials such as cotton, denim and canvas reinforce the line’s more informal attitude without sacrificing the construction and visual strength typical of Rick Owens. DRKSHDW interprets streetwear through an avant-garde lens, transforming familiar garments into pieces with an immediately recognizable character.
