Mach & Mach’s spring/summer 2024 collection is an ode to the royalty of the undersea world, inhabited by mermaids and tritons, a romantic fairytale against the backdrop of breathtaking panoramas, filled with pearl-making oysters, striking corals and the iridescence of sunlight hitting the abyss and turning the landscape into a kaleidoscope of prismatic colors. The footwear collection’s journey starts on sandy beaches, where sea foam rippling on the foreshore and the placid ocean sound serve as portals to the crystalline waters that express myriad nuances of blue, bustling with undersea life and cradled by siren songs. The Mermaid Pearl Sandals are the brand’s first thong style with sculptural kitten heels, their two straps edged in shimmering pearls lit up by a light blue undertone, while the Mermaid Pearl Mule crafted from Made in Italy iridescent gold wash leather are trimmed in rosy pearl exuding delicacy and femininity. Diving into the undersea amid seashells and sea horses, the spring/summer’s mermaids don a new iteration of the signature Marie Antoinette slingbacks, seemingly soaked in water and featuring satin and lace ruffles, with micro bows dotted in tiny crystals adding a dash of sparkle. They come in lime green, pink and ocean blue. When the mermaid finds love in the shadow of luxuriant corals, she opts for the Diamond of Elizabeth sandals, a new iteration of Mach & Mach’s iconic slingbacks, which are topped with a sizable gem, crafted from PVC and pearl leather or satin and adorned with rows of dainty faux pearls and diamonds that wrap their way around the ankle. Complementing the marine-appropriate footwear, Mach & Mach’s ready-to-wear capsule collection makes waves with its party-ready mermaidcore elan. A dramatic black gown in crystal-dotted black fishnet has a draped plunging V-neck, while a chainmail-like tunic with a sweep train swathed in oversized sequins looks like paint and light sketched on the body. The playful giant sequins minidress and crop top and miniskirt ensemble embrace Mach & Mach’s quirkier side and surreal touch with the brand’s signature pink bows popping here and there.
