HOW TO WEAR: DARK ROMANCE

DARK ROMANCE

"Floral? For spring? Pure avant-garde " said Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada. It has now been established that using floral prints or embroidery in spring is certainly not innovative and for the winter it is almost an oxymoron, but for the FW19/20 it is one of the major trends seen on the catwalks, from Prada to Dior up to Balenciaga. The key to the interpretation changes, however. It is no longer a question of little flowers in pastel tones, but of flowers, also quite realistic, with dark, gloomy tones and backgrounds, with clear grunge and Gothic references that we have already seen to be the basic note ofthis season.

Here are our look suggestions to wear this trend at its best: let's start with one of the mentioned brands, Balenciaga, with the dress in floral print, above we recommend you to wear a nice oversized cardigan, we propose you the one in animal print by Saint Laurent to create a mix of prints. As for the shoes instead we propose the white sling-back in crocodile print of The Attico and finally, to make the look even more "bold" the crystal earrings by Alessandra Rich.

As second look we start to create the outfit from Prada's 'Beauty flower' skirt and we match it to the Givenchy shirt with a masculine cut, as shoes we go back to Prada with the 'Centaurus' derbies we have seen on the catwalk and as bag the pouch of Kenzo.

As last look instead we propose the 'Toledo' velvet top by Magda Butrym combined with the 'Cadix' leather trousers by Isabel Marant and the houndstooth coat by Balenciaga, as for the accessories we advise you to use a belt that recalls westerns like this from B-Low the Belt.
