Interview with Riccardo Sciutto, CEO of Sergio Rossi group


March 2020 - Founded in the ‘60s, Sergio Rossi’s company has reached a world fame thanks his wonderful creations of shoes. Made by expert craftsmen and who their inspiration totally Made in Italy is.


1. WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION FOR THE CREATION OF THE SS20 COLLECTION AND WHICH WOMAN WAS IT DESIGNED FOR? Sergio Rossi SS20 collection reveals without any hesitation the boldest side of the brand, always keeping in mind our DNA and looking once again in the archive for its most genuine expression. A collection that looks at the future addressing to its woman, who is sophisticated, dynamic and doesn’t take herself too much seriously.

2. WHAT ARE THE ICONIC MODELS AND THE ELEMENTS THAT BEST REPRESENTS THIS SEASON? The logo, as a tribute to our history, is certainly the leitmotif of the collection that drives us through the models presented. Logo that first becomes a pattern in a logomania version and then turns into accessory thanks to the sculpted heel with attractive lines, giving it a distinctive and courageous character to a family of must-have seasonal models. SR1, the most iconic selection of Sergio Rossi who signed the rebirth of the brand, continues to seduce with its square lines, improved by the sensual charm of the black dotted crystal net. A celebration of Sergio Rossi's elegant and sophisticated femininity.

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FOR THE FW20? srTwenty - the new FW20 collection presented on the Milan Fashion Week last February – it’s a new tribute to Sergio Rossi's heritage, in which I have strongly believed and invested since my arrival in this company. srTwenty explore the intriguing and refined charm of the ‘00s in our archive, and always looks at the future with a modern and contemporary approach. The name chosen is not causal: srTwenty to pay tribute to the year in which we live (2020) and as well to the original archive piece which inspired it 20 years ago.

4. 3 WORDS TO DESCRIBE SERGIO ROSSI? Craftsmanship, timeless femininity, innovation.

5. HOW MUCH SUSTAINABILITY MATTERS TO YOU? Sustainability is a keystone of Sergio Rossi's growth strategy since my arrival in the company in 2016. I am convinced that each of us can have an impact on our planet, so it is crucial that everyone is committed in first person in this challenge. Our focus as a company is based on three central elements: energy, human capital and local communities. Starting from January 2020, all the energy used in our Italian manufactory, HQ and retail network are totally green, with the aim of extending this action globally. The energy used, for example, during the presentation of the new srTwenty collection was 100% green, as we use energy derived exclusively from renewable resources and, since 2017, we are members of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). I want to adopt a positive approach and promote a change in Sergio Rossi, and every choice taken by me is aimed to make Sergio Rossi as sustainable as possible, minimizing our impact in the world.
