Mauna Kea was born in 1988 from the idea of finding the perfect combination of streetwear made in Italy and fashion trends. The idea comes from a young surfer inspired by the Hawaiian volcano Mauna Kea, inactive for years but predominant in the landscape of the island on which it is located. Hawaii has provided the basic inspiration for prints and design, like the tie-dye which is one of the key elements of the brand or the floral prints clearly inspired by the whole Hawaiian heir. Nowadays Mauna Kea belongs to Felix Vannucci who has given new life to the brand by re-launching it on the market and making it fundamental in the Italian streetwear environment.
