• JULIAN FASHION: Where does your inspiration come from?
• GIANLUCA CAPANNOLO:The factors that influence the most my creativity are Contemporary Art, design, architecture and cinema.
• JULIAN FASHION: How would you describe the ideal woman, the star of your fashion collections?
• GIANLUCA CAPANNOLO: The woman that inspires me is defined by a hidden sensuality, a sensuality that is never too evident. My design’s forms and shapes highlight the personality of the person and not their figures.
• JULIAN FASHION: Colours, geometric shapes and forms. To what extent are these elements found in your design?
• GIANLUCA CAPANNOOLO: Geometric shapes are the basis of my work. I have always drawn inspiration from geometry which has a strong presence in the design of my clothes. Circles, trapezia and retangles are some of the most frequently used elements in my collections. The colours of my clothes are bright and strong and they merge into each other.
• JULIAN FASHION: What are the keywords of your FW18 collection?
• GIANLUCA CAPANNOLO: Shape, geometry, colour. Circles, squares, trapezoids and cones determine the design of the garments and create a new oversize clothing for every confident and determined female. Paillette socks and t-shirts are the glamourous and eccentric armor of the contemporary Woman. Bright colours and bronze shades altarnate with fabrics typical of men’s fashion such as Chevron, Vichy, and pied-de-poule. Velvet, bouclé corduroy that looks like fur, tweed, micro and macro check fabric, satin are some of the textiles used for reversible coats and hoodies, two symbols of elegant and urban style.
